What’s the difference between a phrase and a group?

There is no difference. English Stars uses the term phrase. Phrase and group are both acceptable terms when referring to a:

  • noun phrase or noun group
  • verb phrase or verb group
  • adverb phrase or adverb group
  • adjective phrase or adjective group.

The only exception is a prepositional phrase which cannot be referred to as a group.
