Try this fun version of the traditional spelling bee that Sound Waves Literacy students will love:
Students stand in a circle.
The teacher says a Fous Word from the current unit being studied, and nominates a student to begin spelling the word.
Going clockwise around the circle, students spell the word one letter a time.
The student next in line after the last letter has been called says bananas. The next student is out and sits down. If a student says an incorrect letter, they also sit it out.
Continue spelling further Focus Words until one student, the winner, remains standing.
