To cater for early learning development, Think Mentals Student Workbook 1 includes preparatory units that teach early maths concepts and friendly number facts.

The preparatory units cover important pre-strategies that train young minds to:

• visualise sets of numbers in different ways
• partition numbers
• recognise where numbers are in relation to each other along a number line.

Pre-strategies build a solid foundation for learning and applying Think Mentals strategies in Years 2–6. Currently, Year 1 is only available in Student Workbook format.
